Five Tenets of Tae-Kwon-Do

Courtesy

Students should practice courtesy to build their noble character and conduct their training in an orderly manner.

Integrity

One must be able to define right and wrong and have the conscience, if wrong, to feel guilt.

Perseverance

Patience leads to virtue or merit. To achieve something, one must set their goal, then constantly persevere.

Self-Control

According to Lao-Tzu, the stronger person is one who wins over oneself rather than someone else.

Indomitable Spirit

As history has proven, those who have pursued their dreams earnestly and strenuously with indomitable spirit have never failed to achieve their goals.

Our Classes

Little Lions

Little Lions is a program which focuses on character development for children ages 4 - 9. We use a learn-through-play format to help teach discipline, respect, self-control, and focus.

Orientation

Your first classes at Sun Yi's Academy will be private sessions with an instructor who will help you get familiar with the structure of the class. Generally, four to six orientation classes is enough to orient a student and transition them to traditional classes.

Intermediate

At first, you will be attending the beginners class until you are ready to join more classes. This class has a slower pace and the smaller size allows for more personal instruction. Generally, only white and orange belts attend this class but it is open to all ranks.

All-Rank and Advanced

You will have up to 6 opportunities during the week in which to attend class. These classes are faster-paced and include ranks from orange belt to black belt. This class allows students the opportunity to work with others their own rank as well as those who are more experienced.
